The Colliery Inertisation System is a system of providing inert gas (Nitrogen) to be pumped underground in a colliery in order to extinguish a coal mine fire.
The system comprises a Floxal Membrane plant that separates nitrogen from ambient air that can then be pumped into the underground fire area. The system is entirely portable and can be easily transported to a mine for rapid deployment.
The system comprises an Air Liquide, AMSA Floxal Nitrogen Generator, 3 x Atlas Copco lubricated screw air compressors and a Cummins 1500Kva diesel generator set to power the plant all of which is mounted on trailers for portability.
